The Homestuck Movie Officially Announced

After years of rumors, jokes, and increasingly elaborate fan trailers, it’s finally happening: The Homestuck Movie has been officially announced. The film is being described as “the most ambitious adaptation of an internet webcomic about a video game about the end of the world ever attempted.”

The project will reportedly be co-produced by Netflix, A24, and a mysterious crowdfunding campaign that reached $4.13 billion overnight, only to immediately spend half of it on ironic soundtracks and soda sponsorships.

Sources close to production claim the movie will cover “at least” Acts 1 through 5, with later Acts “compressed into an extended post-credits sequence that may require additional dimensionally aware viewing equipment.”

When asked about the plot, one writer explained, “It’s about kids who play a game that ends the world, but it’s also about friendship, time travel, trauma, and the inherent instability of narrative structure itself. Also, one of them is literally a puppet.”

Early casting rumors include:

Insiders say the film will blend live-action, animation, and “whatever medium Flash technically was.” The soundtrack will be handled by an ensemble of fan composers working out of a Discord server named “SBURB OST 2.0 (serious this time).”

The director has promised “at least one scene that goes on way too long, several layers of ironic foreshadowing, and a runtime measured in paradox space minutes.”

“It’s not just a film,” said the producer. “It’s a self-contained timeline.”

The Homestuck Movie is currently slated for release on April 13th, 2026 — but fans caution that this could easily be delayed by seven years, five hiatuses, and one mysterious website crash.
